 WHAT TO WEAR

Provincial regulations require helmet use at all times while cycling. Half-shell or Full-face helmets are required, with Full-face being strongly encouraged. Knee-pads or full pants and elbow pads or full sleeves are required. Weather in Wentworth can change rapidly, please monitor forecasts and dress appropriately.  The event will proceed rain or shine!

 WHAT TO PACK

Racers are allowed to stop on course to access water and food at the base facility and water supply stations as long as they don’t overly delay, or detour, from a transit. Personal responsibility and self-sufficiency are a large part of Enduro racing and riders are encouraged to carry adequate equipment for operating in mountainous environments. Each rider should remember that they are solely responsible for themselves but may assist other racers on course. Riders should be prepared to carry sufficient water to last a minimum of 2 hours of racing between water stops. Food or equipment stashes are not permitted on the mountain.

It is strongly recommended that all racers carry:

·        Suitable backpack or hip back

·        Waterproof jacket

·        Tube / puncture repair kit & pump

·        Multi tool

·        Basic, well maintained first aid kit

·        Food and fluids

·        Eye protection (glasses or goggles)

·        Emergency contacts (Emergency phone number 902-548-2089 is located on the event bracelet)

SAFETY

First aid volunteers will be on hand at each stage, in contact with Mountain Operations staff. Emergency contact numbers are located on the event bracelets (EMERGENCY # 902-548-2089).  If riders need immediate assistance and are in transit please call the Emergency Number and we will dispatch help. If riders need to stop during a Special Stage to assist another rider with crash/injury they will be allowed to repeat the stage. Safety is our #1 priority.

The mandatory rider meeting will cover additional safety details for all participants.
